OT: Thyroid biopsy results
Got good news - he doesn't see any evidence of cancer.
However, Dr. Al cautioned me that, while the biopsy is their most reliable diagnostic tool, it is not 100% foolproof. So, the plan is this:
I will continue to take my current medication.
I will come in for my regular 3 month checkup.
When I come in at 6 months, they will do another ultrasound. If the nodule has continued to grow, they will remove my thyroid as a precautionary measure.

Good news indeed. Please stay proactive my coworker went through the same exact thing, had hers removed and they did find cancer (not on the "ends but smack dab in the middle of the thyroid, which was NOT expected).
